Meet Leo Constantin. The self-driver who started his own haulage company in Sweden

Name: Leo

Age: 42

Residence: Kungsör

Origin: Romania

How did you come to drive a truck?

My father was a truck driver, plus I wanted to contribute to Sweden. Starting a business provides the opportunity to create jobs and a service or product.

A bonus is that I really get to see Sweden. Not just as a tourist, which helps me to get a more realistic view of the country, and not just walk between work, ICA and some other things.

What are the challenges and benefits of being your own boss:

I still ask myself that question. When you come to a country where you don’t know the language at first, you are constantly learning things. Not only about language, but also how things work. I have also learned how to run my own business and all that it entails.

What did you do before:

Army

Is there anything in particular that you like about Mantum:

Yes! I like the way Mantum tries to meet everyone’s needs.

Future plans:

Be happy every day. Try to be a better person and learn how to be helpful to my fellow human beings.

Other interests: Reading books on philosophy, agriculture and self-development. I learn things about myself every day. Or listen to books, as I drive all day.

Fun facts: I’m still learning how to live, which is fun. There is no school in the world that teaches it.

Dream car: I already drive a new Scania. It is my dream car. But I would have liked to have a low-loading trailer coupled behind it.

What’s the challenges and good things about being your own boss:

I would ask all these and add, when moving to a new country where one doesn’t speak the language. Everyday is a lesson, constantly learning new things, not only about the swedish language. Good things. Opportunity to build a business and know everything about it.
